In addition, trips to Lhasa also employ the regularly scheduled high-altitude train for the daytime segment between Golmud and Lhasa.
Accommodation styles vary among trains. The Shangri-La Express is utilized on tour itineraries within China. Tours operating in Russia, Mongolia and Central Asia employ the Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express or the Siberian Tiger Trans-Siberian Express private trains.
