Gliding through four countries, this adventure visits modern Istanbul, ruler of the Bosphorus, and Kazanlak, capital of Bulgaria's Valley of the Roses. It continues in Romania, investigating the Dracula legend in the Transylvanian towns of Braşov, with its gothic Bran Castle (also known as Dracula's Castle), and Sighişoara, a medieval town considered the most beautiful and complete medieval architectural ensemble in Romania.

Day 1: Istanbul
Board the Danube Express at Sirkeci Station in late afternoon and admire the Bosphorus, catching a glimpse of Asia as the train leaves the station.
Day 2: Kazanluk & Veliko Tarnovo
By morning, arrive in Kazanluk, center of Bulgaria's rose oil production and home to a Thracian royal tomb that dates back to the 4th century BC. Continue on to Veliko Tarnovo for the afternoon, a fortress town set against a dramatic hill.
Day 3: Braşov, Sighişoara
The train stops in medieval Braşov this morning, a town surrounded by forests that run as deep as the local legends. By lunchtime, arrive in Sighişoara for a walking tour of the town that was Dracula's supposed headquarters.
Day 4: Eger, Budapest
As the train crosses into Hungary, begin the day in Eger, famous for its "bull's blood" red wine. Arrive at the final destination of Budapest in the late afternoon, after taking in the scenary of Hungary's Northern Plain.
