Gamzigrad-Romuliana

Gamzigrad-Romuliana

Located in the eastern part of Serbia, Gamzigrad-Romuliana (Palace of Galerius) is an impressively preserved Roman fortification dating from the late 3rd century. In addition to the ruins of the palace itself, the complex includes the remnants of baths, temples, hot springs and several meticulously arranged tiled mosaics and statues in relief. A fine example of the Roman influence in the Balkans in the time of Galerius, the site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2007.
