Sariwon

With a population of around 300,000, Sariwon is the capital of North Hwanghae province and a market town for agricultural products from the surrounding area.  With a pleasant location on the middle channel of the Chaeryong River, it developed in the 20th century after the railway to Seoul came through.   Enjoy strolling Sariwon Folk Street, designed to resemble an old Korean district, with traditional dwellings, ponds, gardens and pavilions.
