MIR Moment: From Clients to Friends – from Ukraine to Hawaii
We received an email the other day from a pair of dedicated travelers who have traveled with MIR three times. They loved the destinations, but even more, they loved the people they met there.
In 2005, MIR arranged a memorable trip to Ukraine for us. We visited the usual sites – Kiev, Lviv and Crimea. MIR’s Ukraine Director, Luba Rudenko, joined us in Western Ukraine, and the three of us traveled to Kamyanets-Podilsky, Chernivtsi and the Carpathian Mountains (Luba’s homeland). We had a fabulous time together exploring Western Ukraine and the mountains, learning more about both the grand and the turbulent times. We also did lots of wonderful eating and laughing all the way.
In 2008 Luba stayed with us in Seattle following Luba’s visit to MIR Corporation headquarters.
And this year, in January 2015, the three of us traveled to Kauai, Hawaii, following Luba’s trip to MIR headquarters in Seattle. We enjoyed the sun, warm weather, the ocean and the extraordinary beauty of Hawaii – and this time, we got to serve as Luba’s guides! Indeed, traveling helps to understand foreign cultures, and brings people together that may end with a great friendship, as has happened in our case!
